how time passes...

Have been so busy that I have really neglected this blog. So I will try to update in a more reasonable time period. Some new soaps have been added to the Silk lineup and a couple have been given a face lift.

introducing Black Cherry... a very intense, in your face fragrance. Bold and brassy.

Champagne....unique balance of a sparkling, effervescent fragrance that captures
those fizzy bubbles.

Autumn days are waning....

cooler nights, frosty mornings, a time for curling up in front of a crackling wood-stove reminiscing about warm summery days.

Chai Tea
Aromatic, uplifting and spicy. Warmth and sweetness
combined in this gourmet soap.

Ice
Very spa like with a blend of rosemary and eucalyptus.
Crispy and fresh.

 Frost Apple
A walk through the Autumn woods.
Apples, cider and spices.

soap transformations....

over the years I have had a few soaps undergo design changes. Sometimes you think you've hit the right look yet after awhile that soap can start to look drab. My designer self is always finding ways to give more punch to the appearance of soaps.

lets look at Honey....

started with this...                                                     and... pretty but the mica on top gets all over everything.

finally now this.

Lavender...

is another one...                                                                 to this, sorry about the small image!

and finally this.

Cranberry Yuzu...

what was I thinking...
now much better...

relaxing blues...

nice layers                                                       but this is easier to do.

Well, the business all started with this...

My love for goats morphed into an obsession with soapmaking. With all that rich, creamy milk I had to find somewhere to put it. So while raising a registered goat herd of Alpine, Nigerian Dwarfs and other assorted breeds, my true passion was developed. It's now been about 12 years since those first few bars were made and with time many changes in the soaps have evolved. Sort of piled up one after another, kind of like this...

oh my goodness, why can't time stand still for a bit...

I really love frogs and wanted to share a couple of very interesting sites for those living in Canada. Amphibians and Reptiles of Canada  and Frogwatch. Lots of information on distribution, habitat and conservation.

Pacific Treefrog

and again.

Shades of brown...

A collection of soaps, no need for brown to be boring. Mouth watering scents of Vanilla, Chocolate, Brown Sugar Pecan...delicious!

stress limits have been breached...

with getting ready for exhibiting at our first AGS trade show.

So what the heck was I thinking when I signed up for this. So much stuff to get organized about, metric tons of soap to stockpile and to top it off, dealing with Canadian winter driving conditions.

However, this opportunity is a wonderful learning experience and we are so excited to showcase our products in Western Canada's largest gift show.

Come visit us at the Northlands, Edmonton EXPO Centre, Edmonton, AB. We will be located in the Made in Canada area, booth #5008. Show dates are February 19th through to 22nd 2012. Open only to businesses.

into the new year...

some fresh changes are taking place as we swing into a new year. Tree Frog Soaps of Distinction has now become an incorporated company.

Our packaging is undergoing a new look which will display the artistic design and eye appeal of our soaps, while keeping them protected from the rough and tumble handling that can occur in a retail setting. We will also be offering some newly designed counter top and floor point of purchase display units.

Two new soap lines will be making their appearance later this spring. Keep watch for a sneak preview as they undergo their designing.
